美國法官在 Epic Games 控告 Google 一案做出最新裁決，認為 Google 為 Android 平台建構的應用程式商店屬於非法壟斷，要求 Google 必須做出改變
美國法官 James Donato 下令 Google 未來 3 年內開放 Google Play 以供競爭。Google 必須在 Google Play 提供空間給競爭對手的應用程式商店，並且讓這些第三方應用程式商店能夠存取 Google Play 上的所有 App 目錄，除非開發者個別選擇退出。
換句話說，Google 必須向 Android 用戶提供 Google Play 以外的替代方案，便於用戶自行選擇如何下載 App，不用經過 Google Play 結帳系統來付款，如此一來，App 費用也就不用分潤給 Google。
從 2024 年 11 月 1 日至 2027 年 11 月 1 日的 3 年內，James Donato 的裁決要求：
在 Google Play 發行的 Android App，不需要經過 Google Play 結帳系統。
在 Google Play 內，讓 Android 開發者告訴用戶其他付款方式。
讓 Android 開發者自行定價，無需考慮 Google Play 結帳系統。
讓 Android 開發者提供 Google Play 以外的下載方法。
對於發行 Android App 的任何個人或實體，或者計劃推出應用程式商店，Google 不得要求分享收入。
Google 不得向開發者提供金錢或福利，讓他們在 Google Play 獨家或優先推出 App。
Google 不得向開發者提供金錢或福利，避免他們的 App 在競爭對手的應用程式商店發行。
向設備製造商或營運商提供資金或福利，使裝置預先安裝 Google Play。
向設備製造商或營運商提供資金或福利，避免裝置預先安裝競爭對手的應用程式商店。
James Donato 也要求 Google 在 8 個月內提出一套系統，並由 Epic Games 和 Google 聯合選出一個 3 人技術委員會審查技術問題和任何可能存在的爭議。
在 Epic Games 控告 Google 一案，Epic Games 成功辯稱 Google 與開發商、營運商及設備製造商達成大量交易，以至於競爭對手的應用程式商店幾乎不可能存在，形成壟斷局面。受此判決影響，Google 母公司 Alphabet 7 日盤後股價下跌 2.47%。

事實上，Epic Games 並沒有完全滿足。該公司希望法官允許 Google Play 開放至 6 年、而非 3 年，允許 Android 用戶透過點擊方式側載（sideload）App，並讓 Google 停止將 Android API 與 Google Play 綁定。
Google 則在官方部落格文章表示，將要求法院暫停實施補救措施，並對法官裁決提出上訴。
